One iPad in booking, in Guided Access, open to What Happens Now before the free call. This is what we ask the jail to set — not a claim that Alachua has already done it.
Guided Access checklist
- One tablet, charged, dedicated to this page. Not a staff iPhone.
- Safari (or the installed app) open to the Alachua page. Guided Access on, so the person cannot leave it.
- Volume on. Español reachable without hunting.
- The recorded-call warning visible without a tap.
- Facts still tagged “confirm with the jail” until a person on that staff has actually confirmed them.
family texts — later
A reminder text to the family — first appearance is within 24 hours — is the same mechanism as the Santa Clara County trial. We will not send those texts until there is a data-sharing agreement. The page comes first. The texts, if they come, will be information, not legal advice, and they will not ask what happened.
